Predator vs. Prey
On an open day,
Fresh after the night,
As the rested sun brings forth the light,
When all is settled,
And all is at rest,
Searching for the worm is Robin red breast,
Like a subtle alarm,
That’s played at high noon,
Certain instincts go off at the sight of the moon,
Like the owl who’s been perched,
Up high in a tree,
Watching for a mouse and the right opportunity,
For when breakfast is ready,
And open to take,
Every day for a prey is joy they’re awake,
For in the jungle if you rest,
When all is asleep,
Here comes the predator as calm as a sheep,
You may lay on a branch,
And wake up suffocating,
‘Cause little did you know boa was constricting,
A plot like no other,
To fill his appetite,
In the food chain there’s no wrong or right,
It’s eat or be eaten,
In a matter of words,
That’s how Robin red breast sees it when she feeds her birds,
There are many reasons,
For why one becomes a prey,
Could be food, storage, or have to feed their offspring today,
No one group is the main target,
Every dog has its day,
But killing for food, is different from the killing going on today.
Are you a predator,
That sneaks around at night,
Everywhere you go you bring darkness to light,
Or are you a prey,
Because you choose to live right,
Instead of killing you kiss your children goodnight,
For the predator,
Has no limit and no bound,
And lives his life thinking a prey is soon to be found,
And this prey,
Without a care for the game,
Will be known by his actions and not by his name,
Predator or prey which one are you,
Just don’t be naive, ‘cause a predator can become a prey too.
