I’m thinking that this page will have more than one poem one for each year because we can never say “I Love You” to the person that has given birth to us. No matter if that person has done you wrong they made that choice to allow birth to happen. That alone should be given reverence with a simple “I love you” so I wrote and read this poem @Light&Life Ministries.

Shout out to my mother Judene Hunte my very close second mothers Mrs. Humphrey, Mrs. Wallen & Lisa Bishop (all mothers to my best friends.)

Mother

Wow where to begin,

Dear mama how does a mere child repay you,

For the things that you have done,

A mother has such power and strength both outside and in,

Whether its mother and daughter or mother and son,

Her law of kindness flows through her tongue,

From the moment she is pregnant and pushes her child out,

She opens up and speaks wisdom from her mouth,

She is no longer a woman but has joined another route,

This journey can consist of both mom and dad,

Or just mother alone,

She knows what to say whether you’re happy or sad,

She can see your greatness by far with the eyes she has,

A Mother, Grand-mother, Great grand-mother have one thing in Common, Her kind words are like gentle strings to a finely tuned guitar,

Singing nursery rhymes to put you to bed, like twinkle, twinkle little star,

A goal that has now made them great,

You could say it was predestined or it was by faith,

Mama you are many things to your child,

You are a friend in a time of need,

Ready with the tissue for the first nose bleed,

You are a mentor to look up to,

Throughout all situations you always pull through,

You are a great inspiration of love,

Monumentally fitting the position that God gave to you,

Her love erupts like a volcano and continues to run,

Never too old to be scared for her daughter or son,

Cause though you’re two or more people

Those nine months made you one,

She loves her children every day even when they caused trouble,

Protecting her child in any way she can like a bubble,

For like an animal instinct she knows when you’re hurt,

Her words of encouragement are richer than money to splurt,

Like a professor she teaches and like a student you listen,

So on this day where reverence is due,

To the wonderful mother’s upon this earth,

The greatest person since child birth,

One day is not enough to send homage to mothers

But on this day we thank all the mothers that’s given us sisters and brothers,

Thank you for being such wonderful mothers.

More to come…
